Why We’re Here.

Our first international data‑collection campaign brings Nuro’s test fleet to Japan’s roads. By learning to navigate left‑hand traffic, narrow urban corridors, and local driving norms, the Nuro Driver becomes more generalizable—and ultimately safer and more capable for our partners around the world.

Our vehicles are operating autonomously on public roads in Japan with a safety driver, validating our self-driving AI ahead of future partner deployments.

Government Collaboration
We work closely with Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), the National Police Agency, and other policymakers to ensure safe, compliant operations.
